Swim Training Kit

All squad swimmers are required to have a swim kit bag containing essential equipment to support their training. Below is a guide to what you’ll need and where you can purchase these items.

Essential Swim Kit

  • Water Bottle: A labelled water bottle is essential for staying hydrated during training sessions.
  • Goggles: Protect your eyes from pool chlorine with a pair of well-fitted goggles. These are a must-have for all swimmers.
  • Spare Swim Hat: Squad swimmers must wear a swim hat during both training and competitions. Club-branded swim hats are available for purchase from the club.
  • Kickboard and Pull Buoy: These essential training aids help improve strength and technique. Many swimmers find it more cost-effective to purchase these as a set.
  • Fins (Short): Short training fins are great for building strength and technique.
  • Hand Paddles: Recommended by the coaching team:
    • Finis Freestyler Jr. Hand Paddles (white) for swimmers under 14.
    • Finis Freestyler Hand Paddles (yellow) for swimmers aged 14 and above.
  • Optional Training Snorkel: Helps swimmers focus on stroke technique without turning their heads to breathe.

Clothing

  • Swim Trunks/Costumes: Can be purchased from most sports stores or online. Popular brands include Maru, TYR, Speedo, Adidas, and Arena.
  • Swim Bag: A mesh swim bag is ideal for carrying all your equipment to and from the pool.
