St Neots Swans Officials Group Grows from Strength to Strength

St Neots Swans have been showing off their talents, not only in the water, but also on the side of the pool!

Over the last couple of years, the Club has been growing its group of Swim England ‘Officials’, in addition to the group of Timekeepers we established in 2019.

Officials are the people you see poolside in white polo-shirts and black shorts / trousers.  They are responsible for making sure that swimmers compete in line with Swim England rules.  Its critical that we develop a group of Officials so that we can support the Clubs who put on the events at which our swimmers compete.  And, in the longer term, establish our own Club Championships as a ‘licensed’ event so that the times our swimmers achieve at our in-house competition can count as Swim England times.

Caroline Cummins and Daniel Wong have already qualified as Judge Level 1’s.  I am delighted to say that Gavin Brown has completed all of the elements for his Judge Level 1 qualification and, subject to Swim England approval, he will also become qualified.

Congratulations also to David Pickles and Jenny Agnew, also working towards their Judge Level 1, who completed their Timekeeping certificates this weekend.

Also poolside are our group of Team Managers who are responsible at galas and meets for making sure that our swimmers take part in the events that they are booked into.  A huge thanks goes to Jill Black who has joined our Team Manager group alongside Adam Pearson, Sam Woolsey and David Beattie.

These teams, in addition to our teaching, coaching, poolside help and committee teams are all part of the group who help our swimmers achieve the superb results that they do.
